World Cosplay Summit Philippines 2019 is here. What has changed? – Heads-up to those who will compete to represent the country
The World Cosplay Summit Philippines committee will start the Preliminaries for the 2019 Summit which will be held in Nagoya. For this matter, they have released the Rules and Regulations for the 2019 selection, and here are the important things to take note of:
- Those who will compete for WCSPH 2019 should have a Cosplayers.Global account. Cosplayers.global is WCS’ social networking service, which has an option for cosplayers to upload quick videos, a unique feature only available to this site.
- There are three conferences (intra-national preliminaries): Luzon Conference, Visayas Conference and Mindanao Conference. As per the Preliminaries R&R amended October 2, here are the areas covered by each leg. (As with the 2018 qualifiers, there are overlaps).
- In addition, Shueisha titles are now allowed starting from this year’s Preliminaries. All of you who like Gintama and Dragonbleapie — I mean, Dragon Ball, One Piece, Bleach, Hunter x Hunter, Naruto, and even Claymore or just anime adaptations of Shonen Jump as a whole, rise up. Shueisha titles were previously not allowed due to broadcasting rights.
- Speaking of One Piece, to celebrate the 20th year anniversary of the series’ TV broadcast, the ONE PIECE COSPLAY KING GRAND PRIX will be held on August 03, 2019, with more details to come. Prepare your Cosplayers.Global account right away.
I shall update this post to reflect more important changes, but you can read the fine print on the link indicated in the post below:
