I’ve decided to share this experience as a letter, to be sent first to those who follow keepsakes. on Medium (Thank you very much for following me).
I just got off from a part of Barangay Pinugay in Baras, Rizal to see what my mom’s doing there so far. This Barangay is said to be in dispute with neighboring Antipolo for its location, but nevertheless the part of it had a self-sustaining community — there’s a high school, a market, lots of houses and a vast land.
They don’t have a decent cellular phone signal, but I see some houses who have satellite TV — and take this: there’s a Piso Net booth and a BDO withdrawal area as well. I wonder how the withdrawal works, considering that it’s closed on Saturdays.
While it’s very, very far from the civilities that I’m used to see — two hours or so from Pasig via the highway — once you depart from it at night, you can still see a few stars along the way. I think that’s wonderful.
It’s a few days before the ToyCon weekend at SMX Manila, and we hope to welcome you there. See you! (Speaking of ToyCon, I have set up the WCS page in time for the PH National Finals on July 1, Saturday.)
After ToyCon, I should be able to post photos from the Manga Hokusai Manga Exhibit at the Ateneo Art Gallery which I have visited earlier.
